Germantown Homes For Sale
Germantown got its name from the large number of immigrant German businessmen that relocated to this area in the middle part of the nineteenth century. Though most of the farmers and local landowners at that time were English, the name stuck.

Employment opportunities are abundant in many industry sectors; some notable government and business agencies like the United States Department of Energy, Hughes Network Systems and AWS Convergence Technologies/WeatherBug have their headquarters in Germantown.

The Black Rock Center is a popular place to enjoy the performing arts, and it offers a wide array of cultural and social education programs. The Seneca Schoolhouse is another major attraction. This is a single room schoolhouse, now a museum, that serves as a reminder of how public education was conducted in past centuries.

In the past few years, Germantown has experienced moderate growth. An urbanized town center has been built, and the area is becoming increasingly sought after for living and working. Germantown is mostly a residential community with a balance of townhouses, condominiums, and single family homes. The rising population is a sign that the town is slowly being recognized as a destination rather than a pass-through corridor. The area is progressively growing, all the while remaining a truly desirable place to live.
